Ends & Beginnings...

Today is the bittersweet final day of the Creativity Boot Camp. I have gone on {and on} in previous posts about how completely this experience went above and beyond all my wildest expectations. So I won't go into that again. I will simply say that it was sincerely amazing!

In an effort to continue some of the beginnings and friendships that were made over the past two weeks, I'm starting a new weekly feature called The Sunday Creative here at Life Set to Words. Each Sunday, I will be providing a weekly creative prompt along with a post that you may link up to all week long. Hopefully, through this new project, we can all continue along the creative paths that we have begun to forge and maintain the community and relationships that we have developed along the way. So feel free to join in, take a badge, and spread the word! The Sunday Creative will begin Sunday, June 27th.

The Sunday Creative

Although I am sad to see such a wonderful even come to an end, I am excited to be able to get a little break from all things online related...which I will be doing ALL. NEXT. WEEK! While I'm off, I will be meeting friends, fulfilling dreams, and taking gobs of pictures! I cannot wait to share everything with you when I return to this online world!

Considering that I will have all kinds of pictures to show you after next week, I am going to have some picture only blogs scheduled for next week {trying to clear out my stockpile a bit}. And make sure you stop back on Sunday for a very special treat!

Because It Must Be Said {My Mulitlayered Post}...

About a month ago {yes, just one month} I had the idea for this course. I was in the shower and the whole kitten caboodle came to me: the course, the material, the photo, the promoting. It was all right there. I hustled through the whole shampoo, wash, shave cycle so I could get out and, dripping wet, I found a paper and pen wrote down as much as I possible could about my vision so that I could put it all together more formally once I was dry and adequately dressed.

Creative ideas and dreams are funny...and you know that when they come to you all pre-packaged that they are somewhat divine and completely meant to be. I grappled over a few details {when to host it, should I charge, where should it be held}...but for the most part, the Creativity Boot Camp was formed in my head, in entirety, before the end of the day. Trust me, I had my doubts, misgivings, and  insecurities. Who did I think I was? And {and this is the God's honest truth} if I had not loved the photo/button for the course so completely, I would have talked myself right out of it!

What happened as a result is something that I never would have anticipated. The response was huge! At first, I was just so intimidated: host a fun creative exercises for a few of my friends...no problem...but speak about creativity and guide so many through such a personal journey...I just didn't know if I would live up to anyone's expectations. But the response just kept getting bigger and bigger. And as I began officially writing the course, it all came together so beautifully and I was pumped! People were writing me saying how this would be perfect for them and it would help them through a tough time in their lives or that they really needed a creative push. It all just fueled the burning fire I had for this course!

And now it has begun. And, although I am not ordinarily the weepy type, I have been moved to tears multiple times this week over the heart and soul that people are putting into this, the revelations they are making about themselves, and the impact it's having on their lives. The Creativity Boot Camp has taken on yet a whole other layer. I'm seeing that this course is meaningful to people; that it is helping people. I'm seeing people all over creating, connecting, and embracing what is in their hearts. I'm seeing them reaching out, making friends, and discovering their courage. And I can see so clearly what God had intended for this course that day in the shower. And I'm so glad that I said yes.

I just want to say thank you! Thank you to everyone who is participating in this course, to everyone who has emailed me, to everyone who has commented, to everyone who has said thank you to me, to everyone who is putting their selves out there, and to everyone who is supporting and encouraging the other participants of this course. You have made this a remarkable experience for me and I am so happy to be "coaching" you in this journey...although I think it is really you that are coaching me!

Off And Running...

Creativity Boot Camp begins today! I'm so excited {and a little nervous} to finally begin!

If you're participating, hop on over to the CBC blog and get your first assignment!

{ I promise I won't post all CBC stuff here for the next two weeks...but I might be a little quiet over here! I know you'll forgive me, you're so awesome like that! }

Happy Sunday!

Long Weekend...

*big huge long gigantic sigh* I am so looking forward to this holiday weekend. After a six day flu hitting me during one of our busiest weeks, there is nothing I am craving more than three consecutive days play and productive work. Ours promises to be busy, and full, and good, and just what we all need to get back on track around the house and back in touch with each other. I'm dreading the much needed bathroom cleaning, but otherwise looking forward to the picture hanging, yard sale prepping {purging...YAAYYY}, space making, boot camp planning, and other related tasks. Most of all, I'm looking very much forward to three uninterrupted days with my husband...which as of late have been few and far between. It will be nice to get back on the same wavelength...even if it is just for a moment in time!

So, before I check out for the busy {yet hopefully a bit relaxing} weekend, there are just a couple of points to touch on. If you are, like, the only person left in blogland who hasn't yet signed up for the Creativity Boot Camp, please head on over and check it out. It's FREE {yeah...I'm totally thinking I was crazy!}, and it's just something fun to do with two weeks of your summer va-cay! Also, it's worth mentioning that you don't need to officially sign up anywhere. You're welcome to let me know you'll be joining in by leaving a little note in the comments, but you're more than welcome to simply follow along. This weekend, I'll be brainstorming how best to facilitate the camp due to its incredible popularity {as my original plans were a bit small...who would have ever guessed?}! Also, I'll be putting all of my ideas and notes into words and formats so that the course is ready to roll next Sunday! I will be having another little update with some additional information about the camp early next week.

Also, I'm still accepting ads over at the Boot Camp blog. As I mentioned before, this would be a great way to promote your small {or not so small} business! I believe formal registration is at about 300 people, not including the countless others who will be silently playing along or joining in later. Plus, there is over a week left before Boot Camp begins and I'm averaging about 25 new "registrants" daily. So, consider this a  relatively inexpensive way to attract some new customers!

I would be remiss not to mention the fact that I have been an absolutely horrid blog friend as of late...my sincere apologies. It has been hotter than blazes around here and I wanted to get far, far away from my hot house and this sticky leather chair every chance I got...oh, well, that was when I wasn't lying on the floor begging for God's mercy and trying to hold down my crackers and ginger ale! So, even though I have good reason for not visiting you as I should have been, I have still missed hearing your "voices" and I hope to get caught up on your this's and that's soon!

And last, but very far from least, I have been working together with a group of amazing women/bloggers/mamas/friends/people I WILL meet in real life one day/etc...on a new project/venture/exciting idea/you get the idea and hopefully {like after months of behind the scenes planning} I'll be sharing that with you next week...fingers crossed... {yeah...I know...I could not have been more vague!}

Have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend, friends!!!

Boot Camp Update & FAQs...

I want first and foremost to say how excited I am about the interest and buzz around my Creativity Boot Camp! Never in my wildest dreams did I think that so many of you would be participating! That is incredible and I am so excited that you are all going along for the ride!

Due to the unexpected popularity of the course, I have decided to offer some advertising spots on the Creativity Boot Camp blog. The ads are only $35 and are being sold on a first com, first serve basis. This would be a great way to promote your indie/handmade business! Also, if you sell photo textures/actions, craft supplies, scrapbooking materials, etc...this would be a wonderful opportunity to sell to a very targeted market! You can go here for all the details...

Also, I have posted a little FAQ post on the Boot Camp blog to help address some issues I'm hearing here and there. But I'm trying not to give away too much about the actual camp! I'd like you all to remain open about the experience you'll have!

I promise to return to some non-Boot Camp related posting here soon. I'm still getting over this incredible nasty and fickle stomach bug {it keeps leaving, then coming back!}. So I think it's best I stick to non-creative endeavors at this point. I hope you all are doing very, very well!

Happy Tuesday!
