bea blissful

Very coincidentally, I've launced my new wedding favors and gifts within the same month as Etsy launced their Handmade Wedding Series. I, naturally, jumped on the opportunity and put my Soap Wedding Favors in the Wedding Showcase today. What a great idea that Etsy had to promote the talent of Etsy sellers to brides-to-be. I've often thought that I wish Etsy would have been around when I got married. Etsy's paper artists are amazing. They have such wonderfully beautiful and creative ideas.

I'm really enjoying the new aspect that the wedding favors have brought to my business. I love working with the brides to personalize their favors. It's allowing me to work creatively in new ways and I am liking it more than I thought I would.

My new 'bea blissful' wedding line includes many options for brides: favors, bridesmaid gifts, parent/grandparent gifts, welcome baskets. I'm having such a good time creating it all and helping brides to really personalize their wedding in simple, meaningful ways.

Gotta go wrap some favors...

Uplifting

This day has been truly uplifting day thus far! Why, you ask?!
1) IT'S THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING!!!!!!
Yay, the end is near. Warmer weather is coming back to PA. Allthough today is a blustery, chilly day, I remain optomistic about the near future. Last night I even wore flip-flops out of the house! (topic of my love of flip-flops for another post...)

2)I just cut my new Grapefruit Peppermint Soap!
Scent: amazing Color: amazing Consistency: amazing
I'm very pleased with how the soap turned out. I'm working with some new colorants and I was trying to acheive a very specific color without really knowing how these colors behaved. So, I was taking a total chance and ended up with the perfect pinky/peachy color. And just cutting the soap put me in a super positve frame of mind (hello aromatherapy!) so I can't wait until it cures and I can try it in my morning shower.

3) I'm on the front page of the Regional section of our local newspaper today!
This is the article that they came about a month ago to take pictures for. I was beginning to think that they scrapped the whole thing but my husband called from work first thing to say it was in there. Who knows what will come of it but I'm happy for the FREE exposure!

4) Yesterday I posted a forum topic on Etsy asking other soapmakers for helpful swirling techniques. (I had made my first attempt on Monday which, needless to say, did not turn out well!) Anyway, the experience showed me how incredibly kind, helpful, and cool the other Etsy soapmakers are! I was really surprised. Not because I didn't think other Etsy soapmakers would be nice. But I guess I assumed (four letter word) that because we were essentially compitition that they maybe wouldn't be so eager to help another soapmaker. NOT SO! They were helpful, complementary, encouraging. It made me feel very, well, uplifted!

Now, I do have to visit the dentist later so I'm hoping that the uplifting theme of the day continues!

Insomnia Sets In...

I am such a procrastinator. I have virtually no motivation until I have no other choice but to get things done. Then, I work my tukus off. This is where I am currently. I have been extremely productive over the past few days...because I HAVE to be. I have two events this weekend and have not been keeping up with making product. So I'm working in every spare minute and trying to get a solid seven hours of sleep but, alas, insomnia has set in. I am fully aware that I bring this on myself and I'm trying to just accept that this is how I work. Wish me luck!

Anyhow, I am extremely excited about both events this weekend. One is a Home Spa Party which I have recently begun doing. They really are so much fun and they're a great way for people to try out my spa products. (I'll take some pics!) My other event is a Women's Home-Based Business trunk show of sorts. I'm hoping to make some contacts with other local women who own their own business.

Speaking of contacts...I'm super excited about tomorrow! I am driving two hours away to a local city for a Ladies Who Launch seminar. Usually the events they host are multiple day events that I can't get away for but this one worked out perfectly. What a great opportunity to get inspired, gather information, make contacts. I think it's going to be an amazing day. (I'll take some pics!)
